This is one of my favorite appetizers and one of my mom’s specialties. It looks so fancy and elegant, but at the same time really simple to make. And… a perfect appetizer dish to impress your family and friends! 😊

INGREDIENTS (2 servings):
- 150 g scallops
- 1½ tbsp butter
- 1½ tsp Kikkoman soy sauce
- ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 50 g shiitake mushroom
- 50 ml chopped green onion
- Olive oil for pan-searing
- Salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS:
- Brown the butter in a pan. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Gently stir in the soy sauce and lemon juice. Put aside.
- Cut the mushrooms into smaller pieces and fry quickly in a hot pan with a little bit of oil. Add the green onion right at the end. Salt and pepper lightly.
- Dry the scallops with kitchen towel paper. Salt and pepper. Heat a pan with a little oil. Fry the scallops for max. 1 minute on each side on quite high heat.
- Spread the mushroom mixture on a plate. Place the scallops on top. Spoon over the butter. Serve immediately.
