PAN-SEARED SCALLOPS IN SHIITAKE & GREEN ONION SAUCE

This is one of my favorite appetizers and one of my mom’s specialties. It looks so fancy and elegant, but at the same time really simple to make. And… a perfect  appetizer dish to impress your family and friends! 😊

Enjoy! 💗Helena

INGREDIENTS (2 servings):

  • 150 g scallops
  • 1½ tbsp butter
  • 1½ tsp Kikkoman soy sauce
  • ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 50 g shiitake mushroom
  • 50 ml chopped green onion
  • Olive oil for pan-searing
  • Salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Brown the butter in a pan. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Gently stir in the soy sauce and lemon juice. Put aside.
  2. Cut the mushrooms into smaller pieces and fry quickly in a hot pan with a little bit of oil. Add the green onion right at the end. Salt and pepper lightly.
  3. Dry the scallops with kitchen towel paper. Salt and pepper. Heat a pan with a little oil. Fry the scallops for max. 1 minute on each side on quite high heat.
  4. Spread the mushroom mixture on a plate. Place the scallops on top. Spoon over the butter. Serve immediately.
