FLAT IRON STEAK

Sometimes you just crave a nice, juicy steak. Actually, to be honest with you, I crave it almost all the time, because I'm an unapologetic carnivore. Here is the simplest, quickest and most delicious steak recipe you'll ever come across. One day I hope to be able to convince Caroline to try it. She has no idea what she's missing out on. 🥩😋😄

Enjoy! 💗Helena

INGREDIENTS:

  • 550-600 grams flat iron steak
  • 3 tablespoons fresh, or dry, rosemary, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon finishing salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons fresh, black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Dry the meat with a clean paper towel.
  2. Season and marinate the steak on both sides. Then bring to room temperature for 30-60 minutes before cooking.

  3. Pre-heat a cast iron griddle pan and make sure it's very hot.
  4. To obtain a medium steak, cook it on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side (and don't touch the steak while it's searing!).

  5. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes on a wood cutting board or cooling rack. Do not cover it.

  6. Cut the steak against the grain.

  7. Ready to serve!
